Little Reminders

The Spine supports the skull & gives attachment to the ribs. It is a column of 33 irregular bones called vertebrae. Discs of cartilage between the vertebrae :

  • Allow limited movement
  • Prevent friction
  • Act as shock absorbers

The bones are divided into five groups

  • 7  Cervical
  • 12 Thoracic
  • 5 Lumbar
  • 5 Sacral
  • 4 Coccygeal
